Congressman Gary G. Miller Named Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Financial Services

Washington, Dec 20, 2012 -

Congressman Gary G. Miller has been appointed to serve as the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Financial Services for the 113th Congress. He will serve alongside Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX).

Chairman Hensarling said, “Gary brings a wealth of experience and seniority to his new role as Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. He knows firsthand the crushing burden small business owners face when dealing with excessive government red tape. I look forward to working with him and other committee members as we offer solutions to help revive and strengthen America’s free enterprise system.”

Regarding this appointment, Congressman Miller said, “I am honored to have been selected to serve as Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. I look forward to working with Chairman Jeb Hensarling and our colleagues on the committee to strengthen our economy and ensure U.S. companies are competitive and productive in the international marketplace.

To grow our economy and create jobs, it is imperative that America continues to have the best and most competitive financial markets in the world. Unfortunately, numerous federal policies are currently pulling us in the wrong direction, limiting access to capital, stifling innovation, and putting taxpayer dollars at risk. As Vice Chairman of the Committee, I will work alongside Chairman Hensarling to remove Washington roadblocks to job creation and put forward market-oriented solutions to the challenges facing our financial sector.”
