Miller Hopes $390 Million Fixes 91 Freeway Woes

Washington, May 22 -

As 320,000 daily commuters can attest, something needs to be done to fix the gridlock on the 91 freeway. And Congressman Miller thinks he may have the answer.

He introduced a bill on May 10 that would authorize $390 million to improve traffic flow on the

busy Southern California freeway , including:

The 91 and the 91 Express (toll) Lanes handle 320,000 vehicles on a weekday. By 2030, daily

usage is projected by transportation officials to swell to 450,000.

The bill, HR 5329, commonly known as the “California State Route 91 Congestion Relief Act,” is

supported by Congressmen Ken Calvert (R-Riverside) and Don Young (R-Alaska), chairman of

the House Transportation Committee. Mr. Miller is the only California Republican on the House

Transportation Committee.
